Send To A Friend Game Station Repairing

There is a lot of information on the internet about game station repair.  The Aoyue 968A+ is the most popular hot air rework station to use for reflowing.   We have found out that the use of a bottom heater is critical in achieving a high sucess rate.  The board needs to be clamped tightly to prevent warping.   Early on in the work, people used a Aoyue 853A or a Walmart griddle, but we realized this was not giving very high success rates.

This summer the Aoyue 883 preheater was developed which is large enough to hold the XBox and PS3 Boards.   The main advantage of the 883 is it's ability to program a profile.  The use of a profile is important to prevent thermal shock to the board.

Also it is important to note the 75% of the heat should come from the bottom heater.   Early on it was thought that the top heat was more important, but we have learned that the bottom is more critical due to the fact that the solder pads are much closer to the bottom of the board than the top of the board.
